CEO / PRINCIPAL Romit CheemaRomy Cheema is a founding partner and CEO of CanTex Capital. An entrepreneurial thinker, Romy identified untapped opportunities in commercial real estate and founded a unique CRE investment firm, CanTex Capital, in 2018. His relentless energy, thoughtful decision making, and valuable industry relationships have launched CanTex’s growth into one of DFW’s most active investment groups in the Class B infill industrial space. Romy has extensive experience across geographic markets, asset types, and market cycles which allows him to evaluate opportunities from many perspectives. His unique outlook drives CanTex to capitalize on value-add opportunities that are commonly overlooked.
Romy earned his undergraduate degree in Economics from the University of Texas at Austin and his Juris Doctorate from SMU Dedman School of Law, graduating cum laude. He has been honored as D Magazine “Best Lawyers in Dallas” and is a Dallas Business Journal “40 under 40” honoree (2021). Romy is an active member of the Board of Directors for the YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas, and the Board of Trustees for the YMCA Foundation of Metropolitan Dallas.

COO / PRINCIPAL Sam CheemaSam Cheema is a founding partner and COO of CanTex Capital. His professional career began in Midland where he founded a successful hospitality investment company. Sam’s extensive construction background coupled with his skills in design lead CanTex in the reimagination of industrial assets. His understanding of efficient capital expenditure spending has led to a scalable strategy, executed by his in-house construction team and his industry relationships. His love for travel, design, and culture brings a unique perspective to the industry.
Sam attended business school at the University of Texas-Permian Basin and has extensive experience and skill in construction and operations.

President Gillian ChoAs President of CanTex Capital, Gillian works with the team across all aspects of the business to grow the platform. Gillian brings a unique background and perspective to her role, having started her career as a management consultant advising on strategy, organization and operations. She followed this with 15 years of real estate experience across development and investment management in varied asset classes and geographies. Along with deep industry relationships, Gillian brings tremendous energy, strategic thinking and a focus on operational excellence, business development and capital raising activities.
Prior to joining CanTex, Gillian was Head of Investment Management at Amherst and Chief Operating Officer of Crow Holdings. Gillian obtained her bachelor’s degree from the University of Oxford and her MBA from Harvard Business School. She currently sits on the Executive Committee for the Zell/Lurie Real Estate Center at Wharton. -
