Meet the leadership at CanTex Capital.
Romit Cheema is a founding principal and the CEO of CanTex Capital. Since starting the firm, Romit has overseen the growth and development of the company.
Romit leads the firm’s direction by handling all aspects of deal sourcing, debt/equity placement and asset management. He completed his Economics undergraduate degree at the University of Texas at Austin and his Juris Doctorate cum laude from SMU Dedman School of Law. Upon graduation, Romit practiced law for several years with the Dallas-based, international law firm Hunton & Williams LLP, focusing on real estate private equity transactions.
Sam Cheema is a founding principal and the COO of CanTex Capital. His expertise–and passion–is in renovation and design, expanding the firm’s experience to include the adaptive reuse and reimagination of well-built, historic infrastructure. These projects often impact the environments they’re in, breathing new life into old buildings and transforming landmarks into landing places for the entire community.
In addition to working on adaptive reuse projects, Sam has a diverse background in construction and operations, overseeing projects in Canada, West Texas, Arkansas, Waco, Austin and throughout the DFW area. By harnessing his extensive experience in construction, he is able to evaluate, understand and improve the efficiencies across building systems. Sam attended business school at the University of Texas-Permian Basin.
